Scripture: Hebrews 11:29-12:2

Sermon Title: Be Made Perfect

Theme: Soren Kierkegaard said, “We live our lives forward, but only understand it looking backward.” Reading our text backwards, we can see the logic of the preacher. Theologically, I am not sure if the preacher fully grasped God’s perfection. What was God really up to in the history of the Hebrews? How has human interpretation shaped our understanding of divine providence and perfection? Are we ready to nakedly face the power and glory of God . . . or, are we only comfortable with our interpretations?
